From tote bags to free pasties: Introducing Great Western Railway…

September was a significant month for Great Western Railway (GWR). It was the month that marked the start of a new era for the railway company under its new name…

To mark the official re-brand, we were delighted to be involved in “launch day” by creating a fun and interactive experience in stations across the UK that gave something back to customers – literally.

The historic re-brand will be followed by the biggest fleet overhaul since the steam age. Bringing a new age of faster GWR electric trains, equipped with foremost technology and passenger comforts. All staffed by dedicated Great Western Railway people, to connect Great Western Railway stations, and bring prosperity to the great western region.

To mark this momentous occasion, we worked with GWR on a mass distribution campaign in multiple stations across the UK including London Paddington, Slough, Maidenhead, Reading, Oxford, Swindon, Bath, Bristol Temple Meads, Cardiff, Swansea, Taunton, Exeter St David, Plymouth, Newton Abbott, Truro and Penzance.

On the morning of Monday 21 September, our GWR team of ambassadors took to these train stations to distribute branded tote bags, USB sticks and leaflets with details about the re-brand. By the afternoon, the stakes were upped and lucky customers were treated to hot pasties – a welcome treat to send them on their way with a smile.

GWR launch day was a great success and we look forward to what else the new brand has in store over the next few months!
