The brief

A fun, lifestyle stationery and gifts brand created a pop-up boutique in Gatwick Airport, their first taste of travel retail.

Wanting to create an on-brand experience the company needed a staffing partner which could provide a team to embody the brand’s values and philosophy, ahead of being able to recruit a full-time directly-employed team.

The Blackjack response

We formed and trained a team of 8 with full airside security clearance and extensive airport retail experience, who were selected by the client based on brand values and skillset. Having a senior Blackjack Operations Manager on site every day as part of our wider business operations offered a high-level additional support function.

Our favourite moment

The brand went above and beyond to engage our team. On the first day of training, each of the team received a personalized embossed leather organiser, a great foundation for brand loyalty.

The outcome

A hugely successful pop-up store that grew and grew – we were happy to see the brand recruit some of the Blackjack team directly, and we continued to support with ad-hoc cover for their duration at Gatwick Airport.
